This place feels like an old time country club.
The 49er has mostly elevated greens, beautiful narrow fairways and difficult greens to putt on. There were big trees and fair amount of sand bunkers protecting the greens. Very little water to worry about most
There are a few winding cart paths between holes throughout the community and houses. I found the fairways to be narrow today. I bombed a couple beautiful drives today, one 290 yards. I know I can consistently hit 275, but seldom do straight. Today I was left a lot. My timing was off especially with the short game. Several doglegs. Elevated greens.
Flat walk-able.
The 49er golf club is located in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains in Tucson, Arizona, so you know its picturesque…I mean who doesn’t love to golf with the mountains in the backdrop!!! In addition to the golf course, the 49er Country Club offers a full range of amenities for guests, including a bar, a driving range, putting green, and a well-appointed clubhouse bar… The clubhouse features a fully stocked pro shop, as well as a restaurant and bar that serve delicious meals and refreshing drinks. It’s actually a nice bar area. We didn’t stay for drinks and that was a shame…
